A Real Public House

A brief history of the Log Inn Pub

Avola's LOG INN PUB (Neighborhood Public House) was established in 1976 as a meeting place and rest stop for weary travellers making their way north and south along highway #5 between Kamloops and Tete' Jeune Cache which is the northerly junction to the Yellowhead Highway (which travels west through Prince George to Prince Rupert and east through to Manitoba.)

In 1990, present owner Larry Meidinger took over operations and never looked back.  Larry created a warm and inviting atmosphere with a simple roadhouse menu, cold beverages, hot coffee and good conversation. Motorcycle enthusiasts from far and wide would gather every August for live music, dancing, food and friendly competitions and even today, August Long Weekend finds the LOG INN PUB hosting the same good fun with the annual LIP Run...23 years later!!

The LIP is the quintissential Public House.  It's history in pictures and currency adorn the walls, written in countless guestbooks and photo albums.  HOME OF THE WORLD FAMOUS BURGER, folks from all corners of the globe have returned time and time again to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and amazing hospitality.  Stay overnight, go for a hike or a swim, enjoy  a random karaoke session with some colourful Avola locals or sit and listen to a set of live folk music.  Bring your friends, your snowmobiles and quads too!!  Trails abound that lead to lakes full of fish, meadows of wildflowers and beautiful vistas.  At the end of the day... have a relaxing sauna or soak in the hot tub.

Come experience the charms of Avola through the eyes of the Log Inn Pub.  You will leave well fed and entertained and we guarantee you will anticipate your next visit – maybe even mark it on your calendar!!
